"Where Service Meets the Street"
St. Catherine Labouré Parish is embarking on a bold new mission to bring hope and essential supplies directly to our neighbors in Upper St. Clair, Bethel Park, and South Park. The Labouré of Love Mobile Ministry is a volunteer-driven outreach designed to serve our most vulnerable populations.
Many families and seniors in our local community face a "hidden" crisis: they lack access to non-perishable food and essential household items—like detergents and diapers—that are often unavailable through traditional assistance.
By taking our ministry on the road, we:
Build Trust First: We meet people where they are, providing for physical needs to build the foundations for spiritual outreach.
Act as a Mobile Witness: Our branded van will be a constant sign of our parish’s faith and charity as it travels through our neighborhoods.
Proactive Care: We aren't just waiting for those in need to find us; we are delivering the generosity of our parish directly to their doorsteps.
To ensure we can procure our vehicle and begin serving our neighbors this year, we have set a Capital Campaign goal of $60,000. You can see our progress on the boards in the church and at Le Gras Parish Center. As of February 26th, we are halfway there! If 600 people donate $100 we can easily hit our goal. That's only $20 for each week of Lent.
Our target is to reach this goal by Easter Sunday, April 5th. This funding is the vital "seed money" required to secure our mission van, cover administration costs such as insurance and maintenance, marketing and networking expenses, and purchase our initial bulk inventory of supplies.
As we begin this rollout, we invite you to be the "fuel" for this mission. Your financial support before Easter Sunday ensures that St. Catherine Labouré can remain a beacon of mercy far beyond our church walls.
St. Catherine Laboure Parish is launching an exciting new outreach called the Laboure of Love Mobile Ministry — a volunteer-driven effort to bring essential household items and non-perishable food directly to individuals and families in need throughout Upper St. Clair, Bethel Park, and South Park. Many in our community struggle quietly with access to basic necessities such as diapers, cleaning supplies, hygiene products, and food staples. This mobile ministry will meet people where they are, building trust through service while offering the compassion and hope of Christ.
To begin this ministry, the parish is working to secure and outfit a dedicated mobile ministry van that will allow us to safely store, transport, and distribute supplies each month. Our immediate Lenten goal is to raise $60,000 to purchase and prepare the van so we can be ready to serve by Easter.
This investment will cover:
The purchase of a cargo van
Interior shelving and safety modifications
Exterior branding to serve as a visible sign of hope in the community
Initial supply inventory to launch distributions
Will you be one of 600 parishioners to donate $100 this Lent to help make this ministry a reality?
Every gift — large or small — brings us one step closer to serving those in need.
This ministry will be powered by volunteers from our parish community. We are seeking individuals to help with:
Monthly supply drives and sorting donations
Packing and loading the van
Assisting at distribution sites
Outreach and hospitality with those we serve
Logistics, communications, and coordination
Whether you can help once a month or occasionally, your time and talents can make a real difference.
The Laboure of Love Mobile Ministry is just the beginning. This van will not only support household essentials and food distribution but will also open the door for future mobile ministries, such as:
Mobile prayer and educational outreach
Seasonal community service projects
Youth and family service opportunities
Furniture Distribution
Additional outreach programs as needs arise
This van will become a flexible tool for mission — allowing our parish to respond quickly and creatively to the needs of our community.
Through your generosity and willingness to serve, St. Catherine Laboure Parish can extend Christ’s love beyond our walls and into the lives of those who need it most.
Donate. Volunteer. Pray.
Join us in making the Laboure of Love Mobile Ministry a living example of faith in action.
